KNOT & BURL
MEG BYE
WOODWORKER & SCULPTOR
Meg Bye is a woodworker and sculptor working in Seattle, WA.
Meg is the founder and principal artist at Knot and Burl Studios. She specializes in contemporary furniture and custom architectural sculpture, working in plaster, gold leaf, wood, natural fibers, metal and light.
Creating objects and spaces is more than a job for me –– it's a calling. I believe hand-crafted artisanship is a discipline connecting makers over generations. My grandfather was a woodworker and I'm proud to be part of that lineage. I think of my pieces as contemporary heirlooms and my practice as the latest expression of an ancient craft.
- Meg Bye
Bye has completed several educational public art installations and been exhibited in Boston, New York, Chicago, Seattle and Los Angeles.

Knot and Burl was started by artist Meg Bye in 2014 in Seattle, WA.
Meg likes to describe the work we make at Knot and Burl as,
"the place where sculpture and architecture meet."
Collections
Throughout the year we hone our collection to provide ready to purchase highest quality furnishings and functional art.
Customization
The other service we offer is our Customization Packages. Customization involves working one-on-one with Meg to design custom work(s) designed and fabricated specifically to transform your individual space. As Meg works in a wide range of 3D materials her favorite thing is to think outside the box - to push for innovation and exceptionalism.
I am always most pleased with the work created through collaborative customizations. Each project brings new challenges and opportunities. It is the unique restrictions or a space or need that drive the
most innovative results.
Please reach out to me at any time with thoughts or questions.
